I have a job!!
Like Finally!! Woohoo!
So I had an interview today that went fairly well and guess what? I'm employed :D
After 3 months of unemployment partly because I'm very picky over jobs.
I mean I have been working as a part time waitress at a hotel for more than 1 year and that was the only ever job I had. I didn't want to continue working there for long.. Perhaps during my free time to help that's alright, but all the time as a fixed job? Nah.....
I mean the hours are long, its DAMN TIRING. One year and more (Coming 2 years actually is alright) I remembered at one point I was working almost 12 hours.. Can you believe it?
hahha mampos aku.
Started from 7 am (breakfast full)
Ended at 12am +
Next morning.. 7am....
So, if you say I'm snotty then I'm not okay! I know how it feels to be serving people too! and wash dishes and get scolded.. and blahblahblah
I wanted a change because I had already graduated with a diploma in my hands so I intended to look for a job within my level.
I must admit I tend to be a little too ambitious.
Started with applying for PR related jobs...
Advertising, Broadcasting, Events Coordinators, you name it.. but no reply....... grr
And then I got a phone call from a company doing events.
I got shortlisted and then I was hired.... as an events coordinator
So here is the job description:
Setting up and managing training events
- Providing administrative assistance to the Operations Manager
- Liaising with hotel event staff
- Handling participants registration
Requirements:
- Enjoy interacting with people
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to speak English
It's pretty simple but I won't dismiss any sort of opportunity.
Basically I have to do events in Hotels (Hotels again??)
I'm pretty familiar with how the hotel works after years of working in a hotel too...
I'll just say, no matter how easy or not so-much-pay it is for the job, I'll take it as a stepping stone, definitely. I'll work hard to be a productive and efficient employer and gradually build up my career path and head North.
Who knows? After some experience and knowledge and if I flair in doing it, I would definitely move on to bigger chances. Organising bigger events and thus achieving the preferred career later in life through my experiences.
Jonathan once said that to reach the top you will have to work from the bottom.
No one should be arrogant and stubborn during these times.
It's crucial to learn and build up your knowledge from others.
- Those words of advice is coming from someone who is both successful in life and a respectable lovable man :) xxx
